The Road Less Travelled
Thanks Robert Frost!
Well, the Cardinals didn't win and my fast is over. What a revelation! I had my own little plans and God certainly had his! He led me to the road less traveled. I learned that I need to release the guilt and shame of the past (a lesson that I didn't get last year during the fast), I need more balance in my life. I was using work as an escape, not wanting to face the realities of my life. When I actually took a look at them (that part was releasing fear), my life wasn't so bad after all. I have problems and issues, but nothing too big or to hard for God to work with...if I just let them go.
I just finished reading The Shack. It is the story of one man's journey to find God in the midst of deep suffering. Some parts of it I thought were a little weak theologically (i.e. why does suffering exist?), but it was an eye opener for me. It made me think about the mysteries of grace. It opened my heart and soul to the endless and deep and wide love God has for us. He really isn't mad at us for our failings, He knows we will fail, we will stumble. But He loves us and wants a relationship with us.
